I just bet that I’m not the only one. It’s been a tough election season to see women truly being thrown under the bus by men and other women. When will the Democrats learn the emotional messaging techniques used by the QGOP? Please hire some tech savvy people who know how to craft messages that appeal to the emotions. As it was obvious that people were believing the lies that tariffs are good economic policy. I hear that maga types are now bellyaching about the fact that tariff’s do increase the cost of goods, which we’ve been saying all along.
These voters will NOT benefit from any of the tax breaks that are going to the wealthy and big business. QGOP doesn’t care about people further down on the food chain, never have and never will. Just wait, I predict that they will trot out the 25th amendment, section 4 to install the VP as President within a year. I hope I am wrong because I do not want to live under a #ChristianNationalist government and I wager most other Americans feel the same way.
So I made some art… this is still in progress but it’s all I’ve been able to accomplish in the studio.
A Bloody Universe: Another Chapter in the War Against Women.
This is the latest in my Unlikely Universes Series, which is based on greening my studio practice. This piece is composed of a photo shot of the liquid in the evaporation unit I’ve set up so I don’t pour microplastics down into the drain. Hopefully the city government where I live now in Saco, will figure out a way to filter all water coming out of the sewage system so that it won’t pollute the sea water at the release point.
As in all my digital photo based work, this is a limited edition series. Only 25 images will be made in the series. If you’re interested in this piece, which can be printed on gallery wrapped canvas, as well as paper prints, in sizes up to 30 x 30”.
I’m gonna work a bit more on this piece which will be printed as a print on Japanese paper and that I’ll have at the Holiday Sale at Running with Scissors in Portland, Maine (250 Anderson St., if you’re a local reading this) on Dec 14th & 15th from noon to 5 pm.
I’ll have other prints - some with mats - ready to pop into a frame for holiday giving as well as some small paintings like the one below which is 11 x 14” cold wax and oil and paper (mixed media) on a wood cradle and wired to hang right on your wall.
I’ll also have some cards and 2025 desk calendars at my little table in the Print Area. This piece is also available through my website and I’d love to let you have it and bring something else to the show, if you really love it. I call it “Primavera”.
I’ll be a more active poster in the upcoming weeks to really get the word out. I hope that if you can’t buy anything from me, you will support your own local artists and creators in your communities. We ALL really need to shop local as times get even harder.
I was able to exercise some of my commercial acting skills in this spot that I filmed for the NH Liquor Stores and is currently running on TV in NH. If you hail from there and see it, let me know!
I hope that you and yours have a tasty Thanksgiving with all the trimmings that you love. I’m already dreaming of turkey soup!
