The eclipse was only partial here in Rockport, Maine and I tried fiddling around with a pinhole in a piece of paper but wasn’t happy with the results. I couldn’t get solar glasses in time for the event… but I might go out to take a photo at totality in about 15 minutes out here.
I ended up shooting “selfie” style so I wasn’t looking at the sun, but rather at the camera. It did get darker outside as well. I didn’t do any processing of the photo, this is just straight from the phone.
One thing I AM happy about is having a piece of work accepted into the The Biennial Project 2024 (Boston Biennial Project) which projects images of the work in Venice at the Biennial. Check it out HERE. It’s in alpha order, so my entry is near the end.
Making progress in cleaning out and organizing the studio for it’s 50% reduction. I’ve got a beauty ring studio light that I need to get rid of. If I ever do portrait work in a studio, I’m just going to have to rent one. But I don’t see that as the focus of my work at this point in time. I’m gonna go see if Adorama will take lighting equipment. It’s a Phottix Beauty Disk MKII with Bowen Speed ring 16”, with an Unplugged LED 5000. That is, unless you want it? Message me by Wednesday, April 10th if you do!
